Dev Patel Signs First-Look Deal With ShivHans Pictures

The 'Hotel Mumbai' star will produce, develop and create projects with Shivani Rawat's production and finance venture.

Some amazing news has been announced: ShivHans Pictures has signed a first-look film deal with Dev Patel.

Under the deal, he will produce, develop and create projects with Shivani Rawat, CEO and founder of ShivHans Pictures, and president of production Julie Goldstein.

"We want to tell stories that we’re desperate to see about characters and worlds that we haven’t seen before. We’re super excited to collaborate with ShivHans Pictures to make bold and heartfelt content, drawing from our unique cultural experiences to give a voice to the outsiders and underdogs," Dev said in a statement.

The deal reunites Patel and ShivHans Pictures, which earlier collaborated on Hotel Mumbai. Patel is in post-production on his feature directorial debut Monkey Man, based on a script he co-wrote and produced for Netflix.

"We are thrilled to partner with Dev Patel, who has an incredibly fresh vision for projects that align with the ShivHans Pictures mission. Dev has portrayed some of the most memorable and groundbreaking characters and brings forth diverse and engaging storytelling to the screen," Rawat said in his own statement.

ShivHans Pictures' recent movie credits include Jonathan Hensleigh's The Ice Road, starring Liam Neeson and Laurence Fishburne; Aaron Sorkin’s The Trial of Chicago 7; David Oyelowo's directorial debut, The Water Man; and Sneha Koorse's Badmash, a collaboration with Issa Rae's ColorCreative.
